Air-pipe systems 

Commercially used buildings have to be 

ventilated. Air systems are often integrated 

invisible or at least very simple. 

The architects with whom we work 

together look at this very differently. 

They consider the air pipe systems of a 

building not just as tubes which have 

to be hidden but as important design 

elements. We at AMS have made it 

our business to produce these design 

elements – optically outstanding, with 

solid function and of first-class quality.

Technology 

Our air pipes are eye-catcher. However, 

even more important than the form is 

the function. Our towers fulfil all static 

and qualitative requirements regarding 

construction, material and anchorage – 

and they are weatherproof so that they 

will shine for years.

Art 

Does only water have to bubble out of a 

fountain? Do air pipes always have to be 

high? Does one always have to take polished 

stainless steel? The architects of the 

Pharos-house in Vienna said no. True to our 

motto “more from metal” we have developed 

solutions which combine technology 

and art: 

Air bubbles out of the fountain instead 

of water and the air pipes in front of the 

building look like sculptures. And on the 

roof we have used sheet copper so that it 

becomes coated with a patina.

Interior Design 

Columns inside a building give hold. 

The architects of cathedrals have had 

this knowledge for centuries. The solutions 

for columns and bracings shown 

in this brochure do not support weight 

but they are far more part of the intake 

and exhaust system. The architects have 

realised an effective combination of 

form and function. The stainless steel 

reflects very impressively the natural 

daylight from outside and the artificial 

light inside the room. Although very 

big the designs never appear dominant 

but they intensify the brightness of the 

room and let it get even lighter.

Quality standards by AMS 

As we have been working with architects and 

technical planners for decades we know exactly 

what our customers wish: Flexibility and quality. 

To fulfil our own high demands, we have established 

some firm principles: 

p All projects are carried out according to the 

standards and demands of our customers. We 

adapt our systems to the wishes of our customers 

and not the other way around. 

p Our skilled staff is our most important capital. 

In addition as a family business we feel very obliged 

to our location. That means: The complete 

project management, design and production of 

all solutions are effected at our head office in 

Elkenroth/Westerwald to guarantee a constant 

high-quality to our customers. 

p Our customers only receive finished solutions if 

they decide on an air grid or air pipe. We work 

with all suitable and available materials – aluminium, 

stainless steel, copper, brass, sheet steel 

and titanium zinc. We offer versatile surface 

treatments like powder coating, enamelling, 

anodizing, galvanizing, longitudinal grinding, 

polishing and glass bead blasting. 

p The quality control for the design and construction 

of the air pipe systems fulfils the strict 

standards of DIN EN 9002. So we use a special 

programmed CAD/CAM system for controlling 

and advanced CNC/NC-systems for production. 

p The welding of the air pipes requires a maximum 

of precision and craftsmanship. All of our 

employees who are entrusted with this have 

the big welding proof according to DIN 18800. 

p On-site we carry out the assembly of the air 

pipe systems. We have our own fleet and special 

equipment like scaffoldings, lifting platforms 

and cranes.
