“pussyhat” became a symbol
of feminism after Donald
Trump became the president
of the United States. The
initial idea was to breathe a
new meaning into the word
“pussy”, making it an ally of
women in the political process.
Knitting a hat for a protest
became a way of channeling
discontent with the system
into something productive. .
