J-stroke. Begin at one end of the scar (X), apply compression (pressure grading can vary depending

upon the stage of healing and client comfort) then slowly glide in to the scar margin and circularly

glide back away from the scar (white arrow), making a letter ‘J’. This technique can be applied

along the entire length of the scar (yellow arrow). (B) J-stroke – compression, tension and

bending. As noted in (A), glide into the scar margin, bending the scar tissue (white line) and then

circularly glide back.
