Pruritus ismore likely to occur during active hypertrophy. It is prudent that theevolution of hypertrophic scars – whether the burn scar is in the early orlate states of maturation – inform treatment protocol. Additionally, stagingwill impact short and long-term outcomes (Cho et al. 2014).
