The varsity baseball nine of
Millburn High lost to Olen
Ridge 17-3 last Friday at Hurrell
Field, Olen Ridge. Coach
Plela used four pitchers in an
effort to halt the parade of
Olen Ridge runs. Tom Stevens
started, followed by Tony
Marcantonio, Bob Lincoln and
Vic Traub. Mears, Hlgley and
Dunn shared the pitching
chores for Olen Ridge.
Millburn jumped to an early,
but short lived lead by grabbing
two runs in the initial
frame. Tony Marcantonio ledoff
by doubling, Thompson
walked, and Marshall sent a
run across with a sharp single,
Thompson being nipped at the
plate. Ward walked, and Blauvelt
followed with a single to
score Marshall.
Olen Ridge came right back
in their half of the first, scoring
four runs. Warren Higgins
clouted a home run with two
on to feature this barrage.

. Last Friday afternoon the
Red and Black trackmen of
Columbia High School drove
the Blue and White runners
out of Underhill Field to the
tune of 74 1/3 to 33 2/3. However,
Coach Swanson seemed to
be pleased with the showing
