Miss Mathes To He June Bride On June 9th in the Christopher Wren Chapel on the campus of William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Va., Miss Joyce Mathes will become the bride of Lieutenant Irvin Leslie Malcolm, Battery F, 74th Coast Artillery, stationed at Portsmouth, Va. The bride-elect who daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carl Mathes of 171 Sagamore road, will grduate the preceeding day from William and Mary College. She prepared at Buxton and Millburn High School Lieutenant Malcolm is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs Edgar L. Malcolm of Wilmington, Del. Sat " The Millburn &> Short Hills ITEM Omans-Tavener Calvary Methodist Church, East Orange was the setting last Saturday for the marriage of Miss Prances Tavener, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman John Lofgren of Maplewood, to Lieutenant John Paul Omans, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, the class of 1942. Lieutenant Omans is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Tessier of Glendale, • California. The Rev. C. C. Omans, grandfather of the groom, and Dr. Lloyd Ellis Foster, pastor of Calvary Church, officiated. The bride wore a gown of ivory faille taffeta with net insets of leaf design nd a long veil of tulle fastened with a coronet. She carried a shower bouquet of yellow roses and babies breath. Mrs. Frederick K. Chase of Lake Packanac, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. W. H. Tavener of Detroit, sister-in-law of the bride, Miss Barbara Litchfield of East Orange and Miss Ruth Mieth of Maplewood. The matron of honor wore a gown of moss green chiffon and the bridesmaids gowns of pale yellow chiffon. They all carried large arm bouquets of mixed spring flowers with matching flowers in lieu of hats. Mrs. Tessier, mother of the groom wore a gown of light blue chiffon with dusty-pink accessories and Mrs. Lofgren a gown" of apple green summer crepe with accessories in coral pink. Lieutenant Wm. Burr Clark of Oregon, classmate of the groom at West Point was best man. The ushers were Dr. Warren Hoover Tavener, brother of the bride, Lieutenant J. F. Davis, Lieutenant Andrew Weigel and Lieutenant Mark H. Terrel. Millbum Mrs. Roderick Bohl, the former, Miss Grace Johnson of Duncan street, was honored on Tuesday night with a surprise miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. Clyde Hiseler and Mrs. Philip Chase at the former's residence on Bodwell terrace. Forty-three guests were present. Mrs. Bohl's was married on May 18th. Her husband is with the U. S. Army at Fort Bragg, N. C. Miss Sara Pritchard of Glen Hill lane, returned last week from Elmira College. On Tuesday she went to Garden City; L. I., to attend a houseparty of Elmlra classmates. They will go to Bay Head for the week-end. 1Y1 l> 11 At a nuptial mass at 10 o'clock on May 30th, in Woodford, Va., Samuel Albanese, took as his bride, MIM Anna Minarchi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Minarchi of that place. The bridegroom to the son of Mrs. Teresa Albanese of 307 Millburn avenue and the late Mr. Albanese. The ceremony took place In St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Newlon, officiating. The bride's sister, Miss Pauline Minarchi was her only attendant. George Minarchi, the bride's brother, was beat man- Mrs. Albanese graduated from Woodford High School and Drake Business School. Mr. Albanese was graduated from Millburn High School and Is a Teller at the First National Bank of Millburn. After a wedding trip the couple will reside at 307 Millburn avenue. Swanstron, son of Mrs. Arthur Swanstron of San Juan, Capistrano, California, and the late Mr. Swanstron of Maplewood, will take place Saturday at 5:30 P. M. in St. George's Episcopal Church, Maplewood. Rev. Francis H. Richey, Pastor, will officiate. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony. Miss Beverly Wuethrich will be her sister's maid of honor, and the Misses Dorothy Landt and Elaine Marshall of Maplewood, will be bride's maids. The bridegroom's brother, Carl O. Swanstron will be best man. Ushers will be Arthur Kiendl of Ridgewood, Richard Swan of Pennsylvania, Walter Melsmiller of Maplewood and Willard Weuthrich of Union. The bride's gown will have a long embroidered organdy bod- Kft&x, Qetwim ice with a white organdy skirt and train. Her finger-tip veil will fall from a coronet of orange blossoms and she will carry white roses and white orchids. The maid of honor will wear pink flowered organdy and the bride's maids blue flowered organdy. They will carry arm bouquets of spring flowers.
