European Partnership for Democracy<br />

The European Partnership for Democracy (EPD) is a non-profit<br />

organisation supporting the development of democracy worldwide. As<br />

a network of European civil <strong>and</strong> political society organisations, EPD<br />

advocates for a stronger presence of democracy support on the EU’s<br />

agenda <strong>and</strong> facilitates the exchange of knowledge among<br />

practitioners. Throughout its work, EPD also seeks <strong>to</strong> contribute <strong>to</strong> the<br />

effectiveness <strong>and</strong> the quality of the programming <strong>and</strong> implementation<br />

cycles of democracy support at the EU level.<br />

Netherl<strong>and</strong>s Institute for Multiparty<br />

Democracy<br />

The Netherl<strong>and</strong>s Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) assists<br />

political parties in new <strong>and</strong> emerging democracies. The organisation’s<br />

approach is characterized by facilitating dialogue. NIMD provides safe<br />

environments for political parties in a country <strong>to</strong> meet, overcome<br />

distrust <strong>and</strong> work <strong>to</strong>gether on political issues. In addition, NIMD also<br />

works directly with parties <strong>to</strong> strengthen their capacities through<br />

educational programs for aspiring politicians. NIMD works in more than<br />

20 countries in Africa, Latin America, Middles East, Asia <strong>and</strong> Eastern<br />

Europe.
