OBITUARY -- KEN ANGELL
It is with great sadness that I report the sudden death of CTPG member Ken Angell of
Barry on 31 st March aged 69. He had been my friend for over 50 years.
Ken was one of our newer members, but had been involved in the preservation
movement for many years. Before retirement he was a 2 nd Engineer with P&A Campbell
Ltd. and later Waverley Excursions Ltd. and helped to preserve both the paddle steamer
‘Waverley’ and the M.V. ‘Balmoral’.
He was a fine engineer; and I am proud to recall that he began his career in the late
1950s as my apprentice in a local garage before going on to bigger things. He leaves a
daughter, Kathy, and grandchildren, Bethan and Jessica.
On behalf of the CTPG I have sent them our sincere condolences.
