YOU’RE
NOT
ALONE.
Looking
after your
wellbeing.

Life is a little strange right now.
And we want you to know, we’re here for you.
It’s so important to look after your mental and physical
wellbeing so we’ve put together some helpful tips to support you.
If you’re feeling anxious or worried please make sure you talk
to someone - a family member, friend or your teacher.
Talking about how we’re feeling is one of the best ways to
feel better about things.
We also have a support team in place to help – reach out by
emailing appointments.wellbeingsupport@gateshead.ac.uk and one
of the team will get back to you quickly.

Be open
Its ok not to be ok.
Letting others know this
enables you to access
the support you need and
also helps you stay
connected to
prevent isolation.

Depression never discriminates.
Took me a long time to realise it but
the key is not to be afraid to open
up. You’re not alone.
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock)

Be active
Keeping fit and healthy is a great
way to improve your mental
wellbeing.
It can reduce stress,
depression and anxiety.
Try home workouts like yoga
or HIT sessions and find what you
enjoy or go for a walk, jog or cycle.

Be self confident
To love yourself means to accept
yourself as you are and to come to
terms with those aspects of yourself
that you cannot change.
It means to have self-respect,
a positive self-image,
and unconditional self-acceptance.

Be kind
Demonstrating kindness not only
benefits others, but makes us feel
better ourselves. Kindness is not
something that demands
hard work or huge amounts of time.
It’s something all of us can strive
to achieve every day.

I’ve been searching for ways to
heal myself and I’ve found that
kindness is the best way.
Lady Gaga

Be in control
If you can’t change your
situation, the one thing
you can change is how you
choose to deal with it.

Be creative
How we think about what
is happening around us is
arguably more important
than what is actually
happening around us.
Is it a problem or is it a
a challenge?

We can’t solve problems by
using the same kind of thinking
we used when creating them.
Albert Einstein

Be together
Staying in touch with friends,
family and the people we love is
so important for our wellbeing
and while we can’t always meet in
person, talking on the phone or
video calling are great ways
to connect with others.

Be content
Recognising and
appreciating the good
around you helps you
feel more satisfied,
content and happy
with your life.

If you look for what you have in life,
you will always have more. If you
look at what you don’t have in life,
you’ll never have enough.
Oprah Winfrey

Be mindful
It can be easy to rush through life
without stopping to notice much.
Paying more attention to the
present moment – to your own
thoughts and feelings, and to the
world around you – can improve
your mental wellbeing.

Be you
Comparing yourself with others
can damage your self-esteem
and confidence.
Begin to focus on yourself to
boost your health and wellbeing.
It’s the first step towards self
improvement and happiness.

Sometimes I’m not always doing
amazing, but it’s ok because everyone
struggles and it is ok to be flawed
because it’s what makes me…me.
Demi Lovato
