As the largest wheel loader in the Active Machinery range,
the AL966E makes a solid addition to any farm machinery
line-up.
Built to withstand tough Australian weather conditions, the
23.5 tonne wheel loader is powered by a 240 horsepower
(179kW) 3306 direct injection Caterpillar engine, made under
licence by China-based SDEC Power.
Active Machinery is headquartered in Melbourne with a
state-of-the-art facility in Dandenong South, Victoria. Its
manufacturing unit, Active Construction Machinery, is based
in China.
Active says it is one of the longest standing companies to
manufacture in Asia and import into Australia.

Company managers also normally travel to China several
times a year to personally make sure that equipment and
accessories are being built to top industry standards.Active
says the heavy duty AL966E is one of these, designed to handle
anything from a quarry to a shipyard, as well as bulk fertiliser
and general farming.
The unit’s heavy duty chassis has been reinforced to take rear
rippers designed for Australian standards, with a wider axle
group for greater stability and triple welds used across
the structure.
Equipped with a four-speed electronic power shift ZF
Transmission, the wheel loader can reach a top speed of
45km/h, and can be legally driven on roads when licenced.
Able to reach a maximum dump height of 3m, the unit comes
with a 3.5 cubic metre capacity general purpose bucket
with a double bevel cutting edge and heavy duty wear pads
underneath and along the sides.
Active also has a wide range of optional attachments available,
including a 5m stick rake, hay forks, grain buckets, high dump
buckets, log grapples, sieve buckets, 4-in-1 buckets and more.
All attachments connect with a heavy duty quick hitch with
80mm pins, which Active says are bigger and stronger than
those on other machines of this size.
The AL966E also comes with a redesigned cabin, ROPS and
FOPS certified in Australia, which offer wide viewing windows as
well as heating and air conditioning.
Other cabin features include a reversing camera, front
and rear wipers and a standard stereo package, as well as
dashboard features including float control tilt kickout and pilot
operated joystick control.
Active also stocks a wide range of spare parts for all its models
at its Dandenong South base, available all year long.
