The new MF 1316S RazorEdge Pull-Type disc mower<br />
conditioner will help operators cut and condition more<br />
hectares every day, Massey Ferguson says.<br />
Built to replace its MF1395 as the largest model in the 1300<br />
RazorEdge series of heavy-duty, fully welded-frame pull-type<br />
mower conditioners, the new model has been designed to<br />
achieve a faster throughput.<br />
To do this, the 4.9m mower conditioner comes with a new<br />
range of belt-drive augers to move the crop quickly to the<br />
conditioners, helping create uniform windrows that dry faster<br />
and more evenly.<br />
Fully enclosed crop conveyers (cages) outside the augers also<br />
prevent crop wrapping and build-up.<br />
Using a system unique to Massey Ferguson, the 1316S uses<br />
a self-adjusting spring tensioner so operators can set and<br />
maintain belt tension more easily.<br />
The system helps move the crop quickly from the outside<br />
discs to the conditioner, creating a cleaner cut, better windrow<br />
formation and less opportunity for leaf damage.<br />
This helps reduce drying time, making it easier to create dense,<br />
high quality hay or forage bales, the company says.<br />
The RazorEdge cutter bar, used across the 1300 range, boasts<br />
a spur gear design that helps provide close cutting without tilting<br />
the header, to minimise scalping and reduce the amount of dirt<br />
and debris collected.<br />
Cut quality is improved by its 10 counter-rotating discs and<br />
18 degree, bottom-bevel knives – with a wear-resistant edge<br />
that maintains its sharpness longer than ground-edge knives,<br />
MF says.<br />
And maintenance is simplified with a new side panel making<br />
for easy servicing of the drive belts, while the gear design<br />
enables gears to be removed without splitting the cutter bar.<br />
The new mower conditioner range is available from Massey<br />
Ferguson dealers across Australia.<br />
