On Wednesday April 22, results received medically cleared a fourth COVID-19positive person, meaning that the individual is no longer exhibiting signs of the virusand has now recovered. The latest results (Thursday, April 23) received fromCARPHA, also indicate that another individual has received medical clearance. Fivepersons have therefore recovered from COVID-19 in St. Vincent and theGrenadines. This means that there are now nine (9) active cases of COVID-19 in St.Vincent and the Grenadines.Eight other persons who had samples tested at CARPHA over the last 48 hours aspart of the ongoing COVID-19 surveillance were negative. To date, samples for 108persons have been collected for PCR testing at CARPHA.Dr. Keizer Beache is reminding the public about the importance of maintaining thepublic health measures currently in place which include hand hygiene, coughetiquette, physical distancing of at least 3-6 feet in public spaces and strict adherenceto quarantine and isolation. These measures, Dr Keizer Beache maintains are vital,if we are to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and theGrenadines.The CMO notes that the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment iscognizant of the need to keep the public aware of every development in respect ofCOVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines as we learn to live with it.Dr Keizer Beache is assuring the public that the Ministry, the official source ofCOVID-19 information in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, remains committed toproviding, timely, accurate and relevant information, as we continue to manage thispublic health challenge together.-END-2
