RECREATIONAL DIRECTOR
Neo Sha Min Bin Adam Shan Neo
When my roommate told me about
the opportunity to join the Hall
Council, I immediately thought to myself
“This would be a great opportunity to try
something new in University and to take
on more responsibilities”. So, I took up
the role of Recreational Director with my
roommate Glenn.
I was prepared to take on any challenges
that came my way. But what I found was a
committee that was like a family that cared
and supported each other. The long hours
of the infamous Hall Council meetings
breezed past due to all the jokes, laughter
and efficiency. In my opinion, the Hall
Council always puts the residents first
to achieve a close-knit community. There
were many tough decisions that the Hall
Council had to make, regardless of the unhappiness
caused I know that we made the
right decisions. Even though the 26th Hall
Council only had 14 members we managed
to push through and put up events, welfare
and show our appreciation for our residents.
to the best of their ability.
The Covid-19 virus was a very unfortunate
ordeal as many events were cancelled or
affected by it. As an epidemic would be a
very serious issue. I hope everyone understands
the measures the school had to
take, and as a Hall Council we had to enforce
it. I hope that this ordeal ends quickly.
I would like to thank my fellow Hall Council
mates for supporting each other and
being understanding. I am very proud to
have joined the 26th Hall Council as it will
surely be one of the biggest highlights of
my time in University. I would also like to
thank every resident for coming down for
the events that the Hall Council planned
and taking part in Inter Hall Recreational
Games and Inter Hall Games. Lastly, I
would like to thank all my Subcommers for
doing such a great job recruiting player and
holding trainings.
The Recreational Director position was
to ensure that our Inter Hall Recreation
Games (IHRG) went smoothly. As Hall 8
oversaw the logistics of the Inter Hall
Recreational Games, we had to bring extra
tables, chairs and even Carrom boards
from other Halls and Nanyang auditorium.
Thanks to the other Recreational Directors
we had help which was greatly appreciated.
I would like to say I am very proud
of all the Hall 8 Recreational Games teams
for putting in effort to train and compete
