SPORTS DIRECTOR

Delia Anne Binny

Hello friends!!! The past year has been

wild, full of laughter, challenging, rewarding

and most importantly, unforgettable. My

journey as Hall 8’s Sports Director was never

easy. We struggled every day of IHG- settling

administrative matters, waking up early and

sleeping late, playing sports every day, convening

Sepak Takraw, training, cheering for

our teams with whatever energy we had left.

But through it all, I’ve learnt and grown more

in these four months than I ever thought I

would have.

Thank you to Xavier, for being my ride or

die. I will forever be thankful that I had you

by my side throughout the Inter-Hall Games.

You taught me so much and I’ll never regret

running with you as Hall 8’s Sports Directors.

Thanks for always being right next to me,

laughing during meetings and playing sports

together. You have quickly become my best

friend.

Thank you 26th JCRC for being by our side

throughout everything. No matter what happens,

I am forever thankful for our friendships.

Thank you to all our team captains who

planned trainings despite your busy schedules,

rallied your team and encouraged them

throughout and thank you to all the Hall 8

athletes who supported us.

Xavier and I are truly thankful for your

sportsmanship, determination and grit and

we hope more than anything that we were

able to play a small part in helping all of you

make the same joyous and fulfilling memories

that we ourselves made. We hope that

sports became more to all of you than just an

achievement or lack thereof, but also a platform

for friendship and team spirit. To see all

of you come down during your winter break

to play sports and to have fun, optimism and

enthusiasm despite winning or losing, and to

hear all of you cheer “Hall 8, Hall 8, Hall 8,

jiayou, jiayou, jiayou!” not only touched our

hearts, but made all our struggles worth it.

Every time someone asks me why I joined

JCRC, I always reply as honestly as I can- I

have NO idea. And I truly have no idea what

kind of post-Hall-camp-hype-ghost-spirit-demon

made me run as Sports Director. But I

can say, that at the end of this journey, I am

thankful that I did.

“Strong alone, unstoppable together.” When

Xavier and I ran as Sports Directors, we

used this quote to represent the two of us.

As our journey comes to an end, this quote

represents much more to me than just the

two of us. It represents Hall 8. To all the Hall

8 residents, thank you for all your hard work

and effort, because it is really all of you and

our unwavering spirit that make Hall 8 unstoppable.
