PUBLICATIONS DIRECTOR

Kaitlyn Yuan Xiao Shan

Wow, writing about my 26th journey while

having to look at this A5-sized image of

myself staring at me is quite embarrassing. Nonetheless,

here it goes...

I remember when I was a freshie, I wanted to

experience the full package of being an eighter

- Completing my 3-2-1 requirements, The “Srethgie”

experience, attending every single event that

was held etc... I never ever thought that included

the ~Hall Council~ experience but here I am, a

member of the 26th Hall Council. I guess I am

proud to say that I have completed the Hall slave

journey at the young age of 21.

Being a viscom student in ADM, I was actually very

unsure if I was able to do a good job in being a publications

director. I only knew then how to shoot

on my phone or when I do use a DSLR, it will definetely

be on Auto mode. Thankfully to Yongkai’s

guidance, I am confident to say that I have learnt

a lot more about cameras and their functions. My

interest in photography has grown immensely as

well. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing an image

come to life after putting it through Lightroom.

To fellow the Hall Residents, thank you all for

attending the Hall events that my fellow team

members have so whole-heartedly prepared for.

As a common Hall Resident last year, I didn’t get

to see what goes on behind the scenes of allowing

such activities to come to life. Thank you for not

allowing their hardship go to waste by attending

and supporting them. I would also like to thank

Residents especially throughout this IHG period.

Thank you for taking time to play for our Hall and

pushing on despite injuries. My heart hurts every

time I see someone in pain.

that suffered during the IHG seasons, especially

on days with 7 on-going sports. Oh my god, it was

stressful. Thank you to my friends who joined the

Subcom to support me.... Thank you to my Year 4

Subcommers, Yong Kai and Jake! I know you guys

can actually slack in your last year but still chose

to join Publications. Hall 8 will miss your photography.

To my Hall Council members, having missing portfolios

here and there, I know it wasn’t easy. Often,

many of us had to take roles of portfolios that

we did not run for. Yet, none of you guys complained

which made me very grateful. I know we

have made mistakes and we also have our ups and

downs but I also know that we have tried our best

to serve. I will miss the stupid conversations we

have in the conference room.

To my roomie, thank you for joining this journey

with me and I know it was not the easiest for you.

Skipping the whole junior portfolio to being a Top

3 member seems daunting but you still took up

the challenge. Seeing you in a leadership position

showed me how responsible and loyal you are as

a team member. RESPECT.

To my friends, sorry.... I have missed out on a lot of

bonding time with you guys especially on wednesdays

and IHG period... please don’t forget about

me.

Thank you Hall 8! Hall 8 Hall 8 Hall8! JIAYOU

JIAYOU JIAYOU!

To my Subcommers, thank you so much for making

this journey so easy! Never have I ever had

such a good team of people that were always willing

to help when I ask. Sorry to the Subcommers
