METRA ® CICP EIA Kit – Quick Guide
C-terminal Propeptide of Collagen Type I, also called PICP
Catalog No. 8003 (Quidel)
CEmark/FDA registered
The Metra CICP EIA kit provides a quantitative measure of the C-terminal
propeptide of type I collagen in serum. Collagen is synthesized as
procollagen. C- and N-terminal peptides are cleaved from the collagen
molecule prior to incorporation into the bone matrix and are released
into the circulation.
Elevated levels have been observed in diseases which are associated
with high bone turnover.
SAMPLE PREPARATION
Sample type: Serum, cell culture medium
Avoid haemolysis of specimens. Keep samples refrigerated at 2–8° C for
storage of less than 5 days. For longer storage freeze specimens at
-20° C or below.
NORMAL VALUES
Women 69-147 ng/mL
Men 76-163 ng/mL
Detailed normal ranges for children are available.
