AS well as being involved in just about every community
group in town, Vickie Tryon is also an experienced
fashionista – she’s been in the business for 30 years. And
now she brings her sharp eye and no-nonsense opinions to
the pages of Exit Zero – as if you weren’t spoiled enough...
BY NOW, you have seen fashion magazine covers tempting
you with information on the new Fall look. Yes, the backlash
against the thong underwear poptart look has finally
occurred (sorry, guys). Moving ever forward, the new Fall look
reminds us to dress like a lady and act like one. Are we ready? I
for colored stones with prong settings.
Large rhinestone and crystal pins are not to be overlooked,
either. The tailored dresser has a great assortment of pins in
natural stone. Slices of Agate, Tigers Eye, Rose Quartz to name
a few, have been showing up at all the art and craft fairs around
town this summer. Locally, check Tuesdays at the Farmers
Market, in West Cape May.
The Whale’s Tale, on Washington Mall, has a collection
of nature-inspired pins in enamel on sterling silver. For you
“diamond-only” girls, check Artisan’s Alcove, on Lafayette,
and MaryAnn’s, on the mall. The junior market is going to
enjoy this trend just as much, especially since it’s at a very affordable
level. Pins are popping up everywhere – try Pearls, on
