fall. “My cousin, Chris, was watching
the house for us in November,
in the middle of the night, he felt
a weird feeling that woke him up.
He sensed something was wrong
and went downstairs to find the
basement flooded…the sump
pump had burned out!”
You see; when a ghost mentions
a problem in the place where
they reside, LISTEN!
Quickly, at this point, I felt a
“swish” of energy move past me.
This is one way we can sense a
ghost. Some people think the cold
breezes or rushes of air (natural
causes ruled out) are caused by
a negative flow of ions, the type
of air those air purifiers put out,
that feels cool and refreshing to
the skin. Ghosts may also use negative
ionic charges of energy to
exist on this plane. So when they
move by us, we feel a cold spot
or rush of cool air. The charge
from negative ions also can cause
the hair on our arms and neck
to stand up. How many of you
have ever said when frightened by
something unknown, “the hair on
the back of my neck is standing
up!”
I could see, in my mind’s
eye, two women wearing white,
one older, one younger, standing
in the back dining room. They
were hovering over the area of the
table. Looking at what?
I got the names “Tessie” and
“Bessie” or “Vessie” and “Bessie”.
“Bessie was Dr. Steven’s wife
and Vesta was his daughter who
lived here until 1980,” Lenanne
informed me.
“Why are they hovering
over this table?” I asked. They
appeared to be looking at something.
“This was Dr. Steven’s
examining room,” said Lenanne.
Ah! I thought, that’s why they are
wearing white! But WHAT are
they examining? Before I could
get an answer to the question
from the ladies, the ghost of a
young boy sprung from the table
and bolted out the door. He gave
me the idea that he had died of
some tonsil or throat problem. He
bolted out the side door and van-
ished. Had I uncovered a Doctor’s
office for ghosts? What would the
HMOs say about THAT!?
As it turned out, Dr Albert
Stevens was known in his day as
a “homeopathic” doctor who created
his own medicines and cures
in a laboratory in the room above
his back office.
Lenanne herself has had
a first hand encounter with her
ghosts. One day, after they first
took over the Inn and were doing
major restoration work, she was
painting an upstairs bedroom.
Her dog was with her in the back
upstairs bedroom, the same room
in which I had felt the presence.
As she recalled, “He (the dog) kept
looking at me, got up and started
growling and I told him to come
lay down. He heard something,
in the room. I said ‘it’s ok, just
lay down.’ A few minutes later
he got up again, went to the doorway
and started growling again
at the empty hallway. And the
hair came up on his back, he was
scared. I thought I heard a voice
also and I thought, ‘That’s it’ and
got down off the ladder and went
