“Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you”– Crowded House
PHOTOGRAPHS BY MACIEJ NABRDALIK
Jim Walls and Christina Balzer perform a legendary PDA at the Cove
last Friday afternoon. And, left, after their painstaking re-enacment.
LAST week we frightened the horses with our interpretation (read:
ripoff) of The Endless Summer movie poster. Most of you loved it,
though one of you thought it was The Shoppe from a distance (the
horror, the horror!)
Anyway, we’re continuing the trend this week with our re-enactment
of the scene in From Here to Eternity when Burt Lancaster
and Deborah Kerr get jiggy with it as the waves lap over their bodies.
We scanned Cape May County far and wide, looking for a sexy,
glamorous, hard-bodied couple to fill the boots, we mean, swimming
costumes, of Messrs Lancaster and Kerr. And, in the end, after
making two telephone calls, we found the perfect couple, Jim Walls
and Christina Balzer, who were sporting enough to lie in the surf,
smooching as the Exit Zero creative team adjusted their arms, elbows,
legs and whatever else to get the perfect pose, as an off-duty
lifeguard (Josh Donahue, we think) looked on in bemusement.
