Sensitivity Test Instructions
1. Wash a small area of skin on the inside of the elbow or between the shoulder blades.
2. Dry gently and then apply a small amount of the Color to the skin. Allow to dry. The Color may be covered with a
plaster or left uncovered.
3. Leave on the skin for at least 48 hours before rinsing. If your client experiences any redness, soreness, itching
or irritation, rinse the Color off the skin immediately and do not apply the Color to the hair. If irritation persists, your
client should seek medical advice.
Note: If you know which shade(s) you will be using to Color your client’s hair, you should use this to carry out the
sensitivity test. If you do not know the shade(s) you will be using, choose a dark shade between 1 and 3 to use in the
sensitivity test. Please note, that if you will be using the Blue Concentrate on your client, you must test this on your
client, as it contains a different pigment to the other Colors. It is not necessary to mix the Color with Activator. Use
neat Color for the sensitivity test.
On-the-Scalp Lightening with Naturlite
You should also carry out a skin sensitivity test before on-the-scalp lightening. Wash and dry a small patch of skin on
the inside of the elbow or between the shoulder blades. Mix Naturlite with the Cream Activator and mix to a smooth
paste. Add a small amount of Naturlite Oil and mix thoroughly. Apply the mixed product to the cleansed area with a
cotton wool bud. Leave for 48 hours. If during this time any irritation occurs, wash off immediately with cool water
and do not use the product.
