Public Library District
Thank You!
We hope all of you remain safe and healthy while at home during these
challenging times and we are grateful to those working on the front lines.
The Board of Trustees and the staff of the Library would like to thank the
community for its support in last month's election. This means so much
to the future of the library district, undoubtedly "fueled by the power
of community." The money will be used to meet growing community
expectations for services, materials, programs and staffing, as well as meet
the minimum wage increase mandated by state law.
Serving You While You Stay at Home
Temporarily closed for health reasons. Please check gailborden.info
Although Library buildings are temporarily closed, we are bringing
programs, books, movies and other materials to your home via
online services. Since Your Library at Home premiered in March, an
unprecedented number of community members have watched our
staff-created storytimes, streamed movies, checked out eBooks and
so much more from the safety of their homes.
We are proud to serve this community and encourage you to discover
Your Library at Home. Please continue reading to find out what
Gail Borden Library can offer you!
Census
In our nearly two years of planning for how we could support our Elgin residents as
they started receiving their 2020 Census notices, we could not have imagined what
we are all facing today. Things have changed rapidly, but the mission remains the
same. The Census is safe…simple….significant – and maybe even more significant as
we all see the growing need for federal funding.
If you care about this community, please visit my2020census.gov or call one of
these phone numbers to complete the census.
