The Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) Vox Maxima, with a hopper capacity of 31,200 m3,
has been named Ship of the Year in 2010. The jury awarded the prize because this ship, the largest
dredging vessel ever built in the Netherlands, was thoroughly engineered and has an excellent
transport efficiency. IHC Dredgers has managed to realize a high-speed ship with a large hopper
capacity in a full ship-shape.
For the Vox Maxima, TTT delivered an integrated communication system, consisting of an ACM
telephgone system which is linked to an SPA public address / general alarm system. Additionally
TTT also delivered a Vingtor Marine TETRA wireless communication system. This system is
integrated in the ACM system and is able to make use of many specific properties of the ACM
system.
