within hours she created a glorious glamourous hair style
with feather headband and curls. “Most people need a trial
run but not Whitney. She took my fine hair and made it look
thick and glamourous. She is a magician. I come here every
four weeks now.”
The growth of Shears of Faith has warranted new stylists
and colorists. Amy Jenness worked with Joe for 23 years in
New Hampshire and found her way back to South Florida to
join Shears of Faith. Her expertise is color, foiliage, cutting
and making others shine. “I love helping others feel good and
transforming their appearance. I just gave a client battling
cancer her the first haircut after a year of wearing a wig. I also
taught her how to style it.”
Amy is famous for her blow-outs – just ask Valerie G. “I come
to Whitney for color, highlights and cuts. Amy blows out my hair
and it stays smooth for days. If someone doesn’t know what
they’re doing they can burn the hair, but Amy is careful and precise.
Whitney also knows exactly how my hair needs to be cut.
She knew it needed a certain weight by adding long layers and
hand-painted balayage to add a golden blonde. This is a calming
shop designed to pamper you.”
Valerie is spot on. Pampering and primping are part of the
beautifying process at Shears of Faith. But it’s also the center of
the socially spectacular vibe. “People come here to get their hair
done, but they enjoy hanging out here as well. The round table
is where everyone sits and enjoys the camaraderie, color and
community,” adds Joe.
Kierstin Poirier is also part of the Shears of Faith family. She
does hair styling, coloring and cutting – but prides herself on
the panorama of the entire experience. “I love playing a part in
helping someone look good and feel their best. Self-confidence
plays such a big role in our culture today - when I’m able to
help my clients get that boost of confidence because they look
and feel great – I feel great.”
Whitney and Joe are master stylists and colorists. But it’s
not just expertise that sets them apart from their peers – it’s
passion. That same passion is airborne within the entire staff.
It’s the reason Missy came for the first-time last month. “I really
like the way Kierstin highlighted my hair. I’m coming back
for sure. She was careful to take small sections of my hair and
wrap it in foil so there’s less breakage. I love it here.”
So does stylist Gabriela Gamba. The newest stylist, who attends
hair shows and classes, has her hand on the pulse of
what’s new in hair and color. Her sweet loving nature and
expertise in Balayage and foiliage make her the perfect addition
to this group of savvy hair savants. “I try to take the
skin color, eye shape and facial structure into consideration
when I do someone’s hair. I love this salon – everyone feels
so comfortable here.”
They sure do. “Word is out that it’s cozy and comfortable
here. It’s about friendliness, integrity and making people
look and feel great.”
