St. Joe’s students develop athletic skills in a structured and fun environment
3-D sculptures out of packing tape, engraving metal plaques
and challenged by different artistic mediums.
There are outdoor facilities for athletics and meals as well
as after school programs, tutoring, family activities and special
events. They have movie nights, festivals and projects that teach
students skills they need for a heightened learning experience.
There is Business Day for the 5th grade that teaches them
how to make a business proposal, raise money, use excel spread
sheets to track profit and loss, and a showroom in the gym to sell
their products. The 7th grade are planning a play about the Civil
War and the 8th grade is putting together Greek Games reminiscent
of the Olympics. There are concerts and creativity projects
that engage and encourage each child’s curiosity and talent.
Giving back and random acts of kindness are important themes
at St. Joe’s. Children do community service in different events
around the city, such as Empty Bowls, feeding the homeless, a pet
supply drive, visiting the elderly and other charitable causes.
The curriculum, programs and activities guide and nourish
children to become healthy, confident, and responsible adults
in preparation for High School.
After 62 years of teaching children, St. Joe’s is doing a stellar
