INDUSTRIAL TOURISM - TOURISME INDUSTRIEL

Industrial tourism is understood to be the cultural tourism segment that, through its heritage or historical aspect (visiting old factories, mines and other facilities that are no longer working but have high tourism-cultural value), or living industry (visiting active companies), show us what the Basque Country is all about, its history and economic activity, recalling certain professions, helping us understand its urban development and interpret its landscape.

hanks to its industrial past, back in the late 19th century,

Tthe Basque Country developed one of the densest railway

centres with raw material mining areas and external markets,

boosting the Basque Country’s socio-economic development.

Currently, the Basque Country has managed to recondition

10 Green Ways, featuring over 180 km of former train tracks

which reveal the history, culture and nature of this beautiful

area.
