Industrial tourism is understood to be the cultural tourism segment that, through its heritage or historical aspect (visiting old factories, mines and other facilities that are no longer working but have high tourism-cultural value), or living industry (visiting active companies), show us what the Basque Country is all about, its history and economic activity, recalling certain professions, helping us understand its urban development and interpret its landscape. I we can follow the industrial
path of the River Lea and
the Marierrota tidal mill.
This landscape comprises
both movable property and
buildings and spaces with
important heritage value
linked to iron-milling and
naval activity in preindustrial
and industrial times.
This industrial landscape is
exceptional as it maintains
ties between the area
and human activity in the
preindustrial and industrial
period, and because many
original aspects remain. In
addition, as opposed to other
hydrographic basins in the
Basque Country, this zone
was barely affected by the
industrial revolution.

L abrite le sentier industriel
du fleuve Lea et le Moulin à
Marées Marierrota. Un paysage
composé à la fois de biens
meubles et immeubles et
d’espaces d’une grande valeur
patrimoniale, liés à la forge, au
moulin et à l’industrie navale
de l’ère préindustrielle et
industrielle.
Un paysage industriel
exceptionnel, car il conserve
encore la relation entre l’espace
et l’activité humaine qui y
était développée à l’époque,
ainsi que bon nombre de ses
éléments d’origine. En outre,
contrairement à d’autres
bassins hydrographiques du
Pays Basque, cette région ne
s’est guère vue touchée par la
révolution industrielle.
