THE STRONGESTPIL E JACKET ON THE MARKETTensile strengths of PileMedic laminates rangebetween 62.000 to 155.000 psi. These strengthsare anywhere from 3 to 10 times higher thanother pile jacket systems used to date.EASE OF INSTALLATIONPileMedic jackets require little training andequipment for installation. The fact that thejackets can be wrapped around the pile abovewater and then pushed into water results insignificantly less need for divers during theinstallation.CONFINEMENT PRESSUREThe lack of a vertical seam means thatthe PileMedic jacket has the same tensilestrength 360 degrees around the pile.This high confining pressure significantlyincreases the strength of the pile for thesame enlargement size. All other pilejackets have a bolted or glued seam whichbecomes the weak point under loading.ONE SIZE FITS ALLThere is no need to order the jackets for theright shape and size in advance. A roll oflaminate can be cut in the field to fit any shapeor size pile. The thin. 4-foot-wide laminate can becut in the field to wrap any shape or size of pile.SEAMLESS SHELLPileMedic jackets are coated with a special epoxypaste and wrapped two or more times aroundthe pile to create a multi-ply impervious shell.This process results in a seamless shell aroundthe pile that will keep all moisture and oxygenout. Along the height of the pile. the jacketsegments are overlapped a minimum of 4 inchesand epoxied together for a watertight joint Sincewater and oxygen are the primary source ofdeterioration in timber piles and corrosion in steelpiles. the seamless construction of PileMedicbrings the corrosion rate to a near halt.AXIAL & FLEXURAL STRENGTHPileMedic laminates are reinforcing sheets.like a steel plate that can be deigned toprovide any level of axial. shear or flexuralstrength for the pile.QUICK REPAIRConventiona I jackets must be ordered inadvance. manufactured to size and shippedto the job site: this causes considerable delayin repair of the damaged pile. The problem iseven more severe following an event such asearthquake or explosion where the size andshape of the piles that get damaged are notknown in advance. In such emergency repairs.PileMedic is the only product where a singleflat sheet can be used immediately to repairpiles of any shape or size.
