RAINFOREST WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL<br />
Best described as world music with a country fair atmosphere in<br />
the midst of lush greenery, the Rainforest World Music Festival is<br />
a not-to-be-missed occasion and guarantees a smashing time in the<br />
heart of the Borneo Jungle. This unique music festival brings together<br />
renowned world and indigenous musicians from all continents. There<br />
will also be various stalls selling food and drink, arts and crafts, and<br />
festival memorabilia on site.<br />

MPO 20TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL SEASON<br />
After two stellar decades, Malaysian Philharmonic<br />
Orchestra (MPO) and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS<br />
(DFP) remain steadfast in their mission to share the depth,<br />
power and beauty of great music. The new anniversary<br />
season celebrations kick off with a Gala Concert on 17<br />
<strong>Aug</strong>ust, the same date as MPO’s inaugural concert in 1998.<br />
On 18 <strong>Aug</strong>ust, the party continues as conductor Jac van<br />
Steen presents the whirlwind-paced Smetana’s ‘Bartered<br />
Bride Overture’ and the Arabian-flavoured Rimsky-<br />
Korsakov’s ‘Scheherazade’; and that’s just the beginning.<br />
