In case you’ve been wondering, it was Region
President Bill Kruder’s idea to divvy up this column
amongst the four elected Board members, so that each
of us has a chance every quarter to communicate with
Maverick Region members. In the past, this space
belonged to the Region President only, so we all agreed
that it was a great idea to allow the four of us to take
turns sharing our general and/or specific viewpoints
with you. So here is my Botschaft (message) to you.
Since Maverick Region is in an area that typically
enjoys warmer weather than much of the rest of the
country, our events and event series start early in the
year, then take a break in the summer, returning again
in the fall. Our very popular Coffee Meets and Monthly
Socials of course take place all year round. The month
that just ended featured the year’s first autocross and
Drivers’ Education events, as well as a Tech Session,
so I hope you were able to check out at least one of
them. If you didn’t, you can sample more in March: not
one but two autocrosses, another Drivers’ Education
weekend, another Tech Session, and the first tour of the
year, to our Alle Mitglieder (All Member) Party. April
has even more in store for us. See our events calendar at
http://mav.pca.org/Calendar/ to see what’s coming up!

Board Botschaft: 2020 Events Have Already Started!
by Carey Spreen, Region Vice President
I would also like to direct your attention to PCA’s annual weeklong
celebration, known as the Porsche Parade, which will be held
this year near Palm Springs, CA from June 21 through 27. If you
have never experienced a Parade, I enthusiastically recommend
attending. It combines several competitive events, tours, social
events, and banquets, all celebrating Porsches and the PCA
members who drive them.
MAV OF THE MONTH:
Tom & Ginger Heuerman
Or for those of you who consider Palm
Springs too hot or too far away, mark
your calendars for next year, when it
will be held in French Lick, Indiana, less
than 900 miles from most locations in the
DFW area. It is an experience not to be
missed. Registration is already open for
this year’s Parade; for more details, visit
https://www.porscheparade.org/.
We hope you attend a Maverick Region
event soon – you’ll be glad you did!
Tom and Ginger are approaching their 5th anniversary with the PCA, and over
that time they have been very active members. You may have remembered that
Ginger put her talents to work when she hand-stitched the Maverick Region Logo
quilt that was auctioned off during our Founders Day Party back in 2017. That’s
just one of the many activities they have helped with, and it doesn’t stop there. Tom
and Ginger just recently stepped in to run the Rally program as Co-Chairs. They
have participated in so many Rallies - they are super-excited and preparing for the
Easter Rally coming up in April. Tom and Ginger are great examples of how our
club stays Fueled By Volunteers. Please join me in congratulating them as our
Mavericks of the Month!
