2020 Easter Hop: Gimmick Rally Previewby Ginger and Tom HeuermanPlease join us for our fifth annual Easter gimmick rally!The Easter Hop Porsche Gimmick Rally 2020 is set forSaturday, April 11. Sign-in starts at 10 am in the TurboCoffee parking lot at 5800 Windhaven Pkwy, The Colony,TX 75056. Note that we are lucky enough to have aGimmick rally that we can enjoy hanging out and havingcoffee with our Mavs & Mochas friends first. They aremeeting at the same place starting at 8:30. So let’s comeearly, have fun, and sign up, then have the drivers’ meetingat 10:30. Sign-up will officially begin at 10:00. We will endat the Shumardii’s Bar and Grill in Bonham for libation andlunch, a re-cap of the fun-filled route, and our prestigiousaward ceremony! The competition for the DLBF (DeadLast But Finished) Award is always fierce!If you joined us in the past for either our Halloween orEaster gimmick rallies, you know how much fun we have.As new rallymeisters we are determined to maintain theexcitement and competition. If you are new to gimmickrallying, we assure you that it will be an enjoyablemorning. Our goal is to keep everyone on the route, sothe drive instructions are not (too) cryptic, as long as youfollow a few basic rules. We have planned the rally to gofrom The Colony to Bonham traveling over 79 miles andstaying on paved back roads, out of the main stream oftraffic as much as possible. This is a tiny bit longer thanour normal, with a few tolls, but we know the fun withour Mavs & Mochas friends, as well as the route, is wellworth the extra few miles and tolls.Two people at a minimum should be in each car: a driverand a navigator. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged;we will have over thirty cars participating, leaving atone- to two-minute intervals from our starting point, andpre-registration helps in our planning.
