THEIR STORY
A love of family and Chicago’s iconic architecture inspired Jen
Burkey (31 and a brand strategist) and Mike Abrahamson’s (29 and
a policy analyst) wedding. The skyline made a dramatic backdrop
for the windy outdoor ceremony at Theater on the Lake, a prairiestyle
1920s building, while inside, pops of gold and orange set a
modern tone. To honor Mike’s late grandmother, each table number
incorporated one of her expressive paintings. —RD
