Forum 21 Energy Advice<br />

Our team of volunteer energy advisors are<br />

helping people who find it hard to keep warm in<br />

winter because of high fuel costs. We can give<br />

surviving winter grants to eligible people <strong>and</strong><br />

help with the switching process to find cheaper<br />

energy suppliers <strong>and</strong> tariffs.<br />

We run monthly switching sessions in the<br />

Minehead Town Council room in the Co-op car<br />

park where we do a computer search <strong>and</strong><br />

explain how the switching process works.<br />

Information <strong>and</strong> advice is also available on the<br />

phone <strong>and</strong> we do home visits to see what help<br />

is available through grants <strong>and</strong> discounts.<br />

People on low incomes may be entitled to<br />

subsidized home improvements such as<br />

insulation, improved heating <strong>and</strong> renewable<br />

sources of energy.<br />

Spring into Summer with Glorious Somerset Gardens<br />

St. Margaret’s Hospice Glorious Somerset Garden Season has arrived!<br />

Commencing Sunday 28 th April at East Huntspill, <strong>and</strong> completing with a lift<br />

<strong>and</strong> divide event at Yeovil Hospice on 27 September. A spring highlight will<br />

be the opening of Hollam House, Dulverton TA22 9JH on Friday May 1st<br />

2.00-5.00pm, with entry at £5. The stunning four-acre spring garden on the<br />

edge of Exmoor abounds with colour featuring rhododendrons, magnolias <strong>and</strong> thous<strong>and</strong>s of<br />

tulips in the borders <strong>and</strong> grounds, plus meadow areas full of bulbs <strong>and</strong> wildflowers, ponds, a<br />

water garden <strong>and</strong> rill, complemented by pergolas, terraces, <strong>and</strong> a summerhouse.<br />

This season there are more than 60 individual gardens taking part, stretching from<br />

Wincanton to Porlock, <strong>and</strong> everywhere in between, from individual gardens to village <strong>and</strong><br />

town openings.<br />

available from any St. Margaret’s Shop, Tourist Information Centres, garden centres <strong>and</strong><br />

Enthusiastic garden visitors may also wish to purchase a season ticket for £25, also available<br />

to purchase by phone, or via the website.<br />

St Margaret’s Hospice is also seeking keen gardeners to volunteer in many of the gardens<br />
