Cannon was host of eight seasons of NBC’s popular competition,
“America’s Got Talent”, and is creator of the very
popular MTV’s hit show – “Wild N’ Out”. He is today’s biggest
tastemaker in comedy and is also credited with discovering
and breaking the careers of such notable comics
as Kevin Hart and Taran Killam, both who came to prominence
through “Wild N’ Out”. Season 13 launched this
January, and BTC has confirmation that MTV has committed
to air the show through season 19! Nick recently
announced along with Live Nation, he will be taking Wild
N’ Out Live on the road for a nationwide tour that kicks
off March 3rd through April 11th. Following the success of
Nick’s Los Angeles, Power 106 AM show, he is now working
with Skyview Networks and Meruelo Media on two new
syndicated radio shows for a nationally syndicated program.
Power 106 Program Director, E-Man said, “Nick Cannon
is that fresh sound we were looking for on Power 106.
Nick is an incredible entertainer who embodies Hip Hop,
pop culture, comedy, and community all in one! We are
very excited to have him on our team”.
No stranger to the big screen, Cannon made his first feature-film
appearance alongside Will Smith and Academy
Award®-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones in the big-box
hit film, Men in Black II. He later went on to star in the
popular film “Drumline”, with co-star Zoe Saldana. Cannon
plays the character, Devon Miles, a Harlem street
drummer recruited to join a prestigious marching band at
an historically black Southern university. Cannon starred
in the Golden Globe® -nominated film “Bobby”—A gripping
film surrounding the aftermath of the assassination
of U.S. Sen. Robert Kennedy. Cannon’s film credits also include
the 2015 Spike Lee film, “Chi-Raq”, where Cannon
earned the coveted Canners/Chopard Breakthrough Actor
of the Year Award for his performance, thus making
him the youngest actor to win the award. The same year,
Cannon worked with over 60 street artists and published
a children’s book, titled, “Neon Aliens Ate My Homework:
And Other Poems”, a collection of 65 hip-hop-inspired
original written poems, and illustrations by Nick Cannon.
With divorce with wife Mariah Carey in 2016, the couple
still manages to be very supportive of each’s careers and
seem very connected and active with their twins, son Moroccan,
and daughter Monroe, posing in photos for media,
and going to various Nickelodeon events. Nick has even
taken son Golden, a son he had with former ex-girlfriend
Brittany Bell in 2017 to Carlsbad’s LEGOLAND along with big
brother, sister “Roc and Roe” tandem babysitter duo.
Known for his passion to give back to communities, Cannon
dedicates much of his time, and resources, and uses
his platforms and voice to give back to those in need. He
has worked with many nationally recognized and respected
organizations, including Boys and Girls Club, Do Something,
Feeding America, Lupus Foundation of America,
Toys for Tots, Stomp Out Bullying, and The National Kidney
Foundation. Cannon also serves as an active member on
the Board of Directors of New York’s St. Mary’s Children’s
Hospital.
Nick established the Nick Cannon Foundation as the philanthropic
arm for his global business endeavors. In collaboration
with the San Diego Unified School District’s
College, Career and Technical Education Showcase, his
foundation also hosted the America’s Teen Mogul Showcase
& Student Business Plan Competition for youths ages
12-19. As a native San Diegan, Cannon created this event
to educate under-represented at-risk youth and empower
them through entrepreneurship education, workforce
development, and by exposing them to various growing
job sectors in the greater San Diego region, including Advanced
Manufacturing, Health Care and Information, and
Communication Technologies, as well as the business
side of the multi-billion-dollar media and entertainment
industries. The competition has grown, and now visits select
cities and creates various faucets for teens throughout
the United States.
Catch Nick Cannon Live on Wild N’ Out Tour starting March
3rd, and “Wild N’ Out” Tuesdays 8/7 Central on VH1. Nick
Cannon Mornings on-air weekdays on Power106 5am-
10am PST, and primetime television on “The Masked Singer”
airing Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
