This is the closest you’ll get to a
real dinosaur. The World of
Dinosaurs, an area of the park,
uses life-like animatronics to
create a realistic dinosaur habitat.
Spot the huge replicas, hiding
among the trees! In addition, there
are over 800 animals to view,
including big cats such as White
Tigers and Jaguars. Purchase
animal food bags and feed many
of the animals yourself, getting
up close in the process. If the
kids still aren’t worn out, let them
loose in one of the five adventure
playgrounds.

all ages, Roarr! is a family friendly park with events that appeal
to everyone. There are predator high ropes, Dippy’s splash
zone, dino-mite indoor play areas, a dinosaur trail and the secret

for a summer day out. Remember to bring swimming costumes

Mountfitchet Castle and Norman Village

Towering over the village, the reconstructed Castle and
Norman Village offers a chance to experience what life would
have been like during the Norman era. The buildings stand
on land believed to have been an early Iron Age fort and
Roman, Saxon and Viking settlement. History comes to life
with costumed characters and events throughout the year,
while rescued animals such as chickens, goats and deer roam
free. Once you’ve explored the castle, take a walk through the
life sized dinosaur display on your way to the Toy Museum.

This free day out is better suited to older children keen to learn
more about the history of dinosaurs. Explore the display of
fossils and bones on display in the gallery and learn more
about the 800 species that roamed the Earth for more than160
million years! The museum hosts events and activities

Jurassic Journey

An interactive experience, which will make visitors feel as
though they’ve transported to Jurassic times. There are over
10 electronic moving installations and a chance to get up
close with life like Stegosaurus, Velociraptor and T.Rex in the
walk-though exhibit. Hands-on experiences such as fossil
digging and roaring installations make this a must visit for any
dino-enthusiasts!

Dinosaurs at Peterborough Cathedral,
20 July to 31 August

This summer, coinciding with the school holidays,
Peterborough Cathedral will be taken over by dinosaurs! The
display is part of Natural History Museum’s touring exhibition,
‘T. rex: The Killer Question’.
The display will be installed in the early 16th century New
Building at the east end of the Cathedral and is made up of 14
dinosaurs, nine of which are animatronic models.
Amongst the collection is a moving, three-quarter size T. rex, as
well as life-size T. rex skeleton and a 12-metre-long static model
of the creature. Models of other dinosaurs, such as Saurornitholestes,
Ankylosaurus, Deinonychus and Edmontosaurues, will
also be shown alongside T. rex for comparison, so that visitors
can consider the ‘killer question’: Was T. rex a ferocious hunter
or a mere scavenger?
