Race Day
Plan ahead and book tickets to a race day. It’s a great excuse
to get dressed up and enjoy a picnic and few drinks in the
sunshine. This summer Newmarket, Huntingdon and Great
Yarmouth Racecourses have a scheduled programme of race
days, concerts and events.
Boat Days
Whether its self-hire or a tour, boats are a wonderful way to enjoy
the East’s pretty landscapes, spot wildlife and make lasting
memories. Hop aboard Orwell Lady for a cruise along the River
Orwell while tucking into afternoon tea. Broads Tours offer live
commentary about the Broads and a complimentary glass of
wine to all mums.
Theatre
A great experience to enjoy with mum; head out for dinner
before watching a fantastic show at one of the region’s theatres.

performances to laugh out loud comedy and music that will
have you dancing in the aisles, there’s something for everyone.
Zoo
If your mum is an animal lover or perhaps you fancy a family day
out, go wild with a trip to the zoo or farm. Drive through lions,
tigers and rhinos at Woburn Safari Park or discover the wildlife
of South America at Amazona Zoo in Cromer. Mother’s Day is
perfectly timed to see new bunnies, lambs and chicks at the
farm. For cuteness overload head to Mead Open Farm near
Leighton Buzzard, Old MacDonalds Farm in Brentwood and
Easton Park Farm in Woodbridge.
Shopping
Browsing stores isn’t for everyone, but if your mum is partial to a
little retail therapy take her on a shopping spree in Cambridge
or Norwich. Both have a great choice of high street stores,
independent retailers and lunch spots. If you’re looking for
designer goods at a great price visit Springfield’s Outlet. For
something extra special treat her to intu Lakeside’s personal
shopping experience. The 30-minute consultation is followed
by a one and a half hour shopping spree with a stylist on hand
to suggest styles and colours that flatter and suit her personality.

out.
