9-22 Mar Cambridge Science Festival

Predictive policing, mini organs, growing food underground,

global mega-fires and the limits of human endurance. These

are a few of the topics explored during the 26th Cambridge

Science Festival, which is set to host 390 events. The theme

this year is ‘vision’.

01-Apr Mrs Cromwell’s Kitchen - Easter Extravaganza

Visit Mrs Cromwell’s original kitchen and watch old recipes

come to life. Have you ever had beef with rose hips? Have you

ever wondered what you would drink if water was poisonous?

Join local guide and food historian, Nora Gardner, in a tasting

session of authentic receipes from the 17th century as well as

some of the modern equivalents. 10am-12pm.

7-10 May Ely Eel Festival

Organised by the Visit Ely team, Ely’s Eel Festival, will see the

return of the Eel Food Safari which runs all weekend where a

selection of local food outlets provide special dishes inspired

by the eel theme. Don’t miss the eel parade and eel throwing

competition.

10-11 Apr Peterborough Festival of Antiques

This twice yearly event has now grown into one of the largest

showground antiques fairs in the country. Open: Friday; Early

Trade 7am - 10am £15pp. Friday; 10am - 4.30pm £7.50pp.

Saturday; 9am - 4.30pm £5pp. Public entrance tickets are only

available at the gate on the day - cash only.

This is a fun and friendly Antiques Fair with around 50 dealers

16-May Oundle Vintage Festival

The Oundle Vintage Festival is a major event with many

attractions and displays, with the centre piece being the

Antiques & Vintage Market which will have up to 50 antique

stall’s in the Town Market Place on closed roads. There will be

many attractions in the Town Centre including vintage cars and

farm machinery, steam engines, a vintage fair ground plus food

and music entertainment. Open 10am - 4pm. Admission Free.

17-May The Orwell Antiques and Vintage Fair Cambridge
