Norwich Big Weekend, 4-5 April
A new event for 2020, Norwich Big Weekend is all about
celebrating Norwich and Norfolk’s tourism offer and showcasing
the county’s credentials as a year-round visitor destination.
The event encourages locals to explore the attractions on their
doorstep.
Anyone with a Norfolk postcode can apply for free tickets
to win experiences through a dedicated ballot system on
norwichbigweekend.co.uk. The ballot will open on 20 February
and run until 16 March. Norfolk residents will have the opportunity
to apply for as many tickets as they wish.
Discover Norfolk’s History
If it was your New Year’s resolution to read more, then put
‘The Little History of Norfolk’ on your list. Published by The History
Press, the book will take you on a journey through the county’s
fascinating history to the present day. Learn about the discovery
of fossil footprints dating back nearly one million years, Boudica’s
revolt, the Roman occupation, the creation of the Norfolk Broads
during the Middles Ages and the growth of the textile industry and
agricultural advances.

Get in the Fast Lane!
An indoor karting facility is set to open its doors in Watford this
spring.
Developed by TeamSport, the UKs largest indoor karting
company, the track will be located at Greatham Road Industrial
Estate, Bushey. The £1.35m development will attract families, fun
seekers and corporate parties to a safe and fun, indoor karting and
leisure experience. Inside the venue, customers will experience a
professionally designed multi-level circuit with thrilling straights,
bends and ramps for up to 16 karters at a time.
The leisure facility will create over 25 jobs for Watford residents.
