dressed, is stringing a recurved bow. Since he is already wearing his own bow in its gorytos on his left side,

he may be giving a demonstration of how it should be done.

9.11 Scythian arrowheads were commonly cast from bronze. The point was formed into two or three

blades. Some had a hooked spike at the base making them difficult and damaging to pull out after they

had become embedded. This group, dating to the seventh century bc, came from kurgan 29 at Kelermes.
