7.12 (Left) Plan of the grave chamber in the Issyk kurgan. The
deceased, elaborately clothed and wearing a complex headdress,
was provided with two swords, a whip, and a mirror. To the right
were placed four wooden trays and several ladles, while at the head
end of the burial chamber a number of bronze, silver, and ceramic
vessels were stacked.
7.13 (Above) Reconstruction of the headdress from the Issyk
kurgan. It was decorated with carved wooden animals covered
with gold sheet and gold foil attachments in the form of leaves or
wings.
