and jewellery, while another woman buried at Akkermen on the River Molochna had
with her a bow and quiver of arrows, four spears, and a suit of scale armour, but she,
too, did not forgo her jewellery and mirror. Grave goods also begin to reflect new
influences from the East. The female buried at Nowosiólka was accompanied by a
camel which at some point in its life must have made a long trek from Central Asia.
Proximity to the Greek cities of the Pontic coast encouraged the adoption of new
methods of tomb construction, particularly after the beginning of the fourth century.
