In recent years magnetoelectric multiferroics, especially rare-earth manganites like
TbMnO3 attracted a lot attention [1]. With the coexistence of magnetic and dielectric
order in the same phase interesting coupling effects can arise in those materials.
We present investigations on BaMnF4 and BaMn1 − xZnxF4. BaMnF4 is a well known
material, being ferroelectric and antiferromagnetic at the same time for TN
