PutingtogetheraUnionterm isnosmaltask.ThisissomethingIcouldnothaveachieved without our staf, commiteemembers,andoficers,alofwhom helpruntheUnionfrom behindthescenes.ThanksmustgototheUnion’sstaf.Firstly,Sharon,withoutwhom we would havealmostcertainlyshutupshop!Alison,yourwork with theaccountsisinvaluabletokeepingtheUnionrunningsmoothly.Sue,thankyousomuchforalthatyoudokeepingthingsinorder!ThankyoutoaltheUnion’spastPresidentswhohavebeenthereforadviceandguidance,whoconvincedmethatIam goodenoughforthisrole-despitemyconstantdoubt.FrommycurentStandingCommiteeandoficers,IwilfirstthankLucy,yoursocialsarethebestyetandIcan'twaittoseeyourideasfornextterm.Iam proudtocalyoumySocialSecretary,butevenproudertocalyoumyfriend.To James,you wereadedicatedSteward,soIhavenodoubtthatyouwilbeanexcelentSecretary.Helen,youareanexemplaryTreasurerandmuchlikethenewTreasurer’sTreatsyouhavegot,youareatreattoworkwith.TomySpeakersSecretariesandPresident’scommitee,youhavehelpedtoshapemyterm;dealtwithmyconstantworyingaboutthingsgoingwrongwiththeterm andsentextrainvitationswhenneeded,yourhelpisalways appreciated. Fergus, you haveelevatedtheroleofAlumniOficerandIamPresident’sThanksoftheUnion.YourtimeasReturningOficerhasbeennodiferent,longmayitcontinue.Now,toTristanandAlexB-C.Ihavespentmoremoneyin24sthanIwouldcaretoadmit,butIwouldneverhaveitanydiferently.Tristan,yourworkimprovingtheUnionisasbriliantasyourmanagementofthebar,whichIam surewilgofrom strengthtostrength.Alex,yourkaraokeandpubquizzesarealwaysexcelent,Ilookforwardtomoreofthem nextterm.Kristen,youareahardworkingSponsorshipSecretaryandyourtalentforgraphicdesignisastounding.TheUnionisgladtohaveyou.And Tamara,yoursuccesoras PublicityOficer,yourefortsphotographing events,addingwitycaptionstoposts,andhelpingimprove the Union’s image are greatlyappreciated.Ofcourse,toalourDebatingOficers-Rosie,GeorgeandAlex-youarededicated,worldclasrepresentativesofcompetitivedebating.WeareluckytohaveyouintheUnion.And,toEaster,aterm thathasbeentransformedoverthepastfewyearsintoabusyandfunterm.IhopethatthisEasterwilbuildonthat.Any presidentialterm is always fulofchalengesandrewards.Thegreatestreward,forme,istheclosefriendsIhavemadealongtheway;whobelieveintheUnionandstuckbymethroughthickandthin.TheUnionhasmademytimeatDurham somuchbeter,andIwiltreasuretheexperiencesIhavehadhereforthesuretheAlumniWeekendwilbeahighlightrestofmylife.Iam beyondhumbledtobeyourofthisterm!ToJack,throughoutyourtime PresidentforEpiphany2020,thankyou.inthesocietyyouhaverepresentedthebestEPIPHANY2020-31
