Welcome to Sarkodie Photography! I document true life with honesty, artistry and a
sense of adventure. My images have a warm and natural style that embraces creative
techniques. I create a relaxed environment where I can capture unguarded emotion and
sincere interaction.
Every wedding story is different and in each case a surreal and unique experience that
you can never fully prepare for. There’s the anticipation, the waves of emotion and
the realisation of a grand plan coming together. My role is to ensure that the event
is captured in full, in a way that reflects the true character of each couple and with
warmth and creativity.
As one of Australia’s leading wedding photographers, Sarkodie Photography has
photographed over 300 weddings, received numerous awards and featured in top
wedding magazines and blogs. You will receive a friendly and helpful service as your big
day approaches, with all the guidance you need relating to timings or any other wedding
questions you have.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Engagement sessions are a fantastic opportunity for couple photography in a more
relaxed and informal environment ahead of the wedding. You’ll get comfortable in
front of camera and get to know your photographer, spending around 90 minutes at
a location of your choice. This may be somewhere local and meaningful to you, or I’d
be happy to recommend a stunning location of my many favourites around Sydney.
We’d make use of the best times of day for natural light, either early in the morning
or the hour leading up to sunset.

SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER
I normally recommend a second photographer for larger weddings (200 people or
more) or on occasions where it’s not possible for me to get coverage of both bride
and groom prep. With a second photographer you’ll receive a lot more images, taken
from different perspectives and covering activity and interactions away from the main
events. Both sets of images will be seamlessly integrated into the final delivery and
edited in the same style.

ALBUMS
In a world of overloaded visual stimulation, with screen displays consuming more and more of our attention, it has
never been more important to reconnect with the real and the physical. A tangible album is an investment for a
lifetime, carefully curated to relive the experience shared with your closest friends and family.
Every book is printed on fine art, museum quality paper with vibrant and vivid archival inks. As there are no cuts or
gutters in the binding, your images display without any distractions.
Images are printed on matte paper that is rated to last generations without discolouring, yellowing or fading.
The books have a variety of cover options, Cafe Leather, Exotic Leather, Book Cloth, Photo Strips, Three-Quarter
Binding and Photo Wrap. Design whatever you want and your cover will be the theme of your creation. You are
creating fine art bound in a book.

ABOUT
I’m Joseph Sarkodie, a Sydney-based wedding photographer. I document true life with
honesty, artistry and a sense of adventure. My images have a warm and natural style
that embraces creative techniques. I create a relaxed environment where I can capture
unguarded emotion and sincere interaction. My approach is friendly and unobtrusive.
My passion for creative expression began with a love of drawing and led to a career in
architecture. Photography was a creative outlet that soon became an all-consuming hobby
and from 2011 my full-time occupation. I’ve received numerous awards at State and
National level including finalist of the AIPP NSW Wedding Photographer of the Year,
Capture Magazine’s Emerging Wedding Photographer of the Year Award, multiple AIPP
NSW Gold awards and the NSW Album of the Year.
Beyond the full story of the wedding day, captured with warmth and a candid natural
feel, I push creative boundaries to deliver different takes on a traditional scene. I look for
opportunities to exploit light, shadow, framing and reflection to add mood and feel to
an image. Further techniques include double exposures, the use of smoke and mist, and
creative off-camera lighting.

Joseph is an amazing photographer! Our photos really capture
the happiness and love in the air that day, they are simply
beautiful and make us smile every time we look at them… Joseph

so calming and I have never seen a man run so fast, across
a very windy Watson’s bay to chase my run away veil! He has

I am sorry I had not mentioned this earlier, time got away… It is crucial you know
how your work was received!!!! Every single person that has come into contact with
our wedding shots have said they are second to none… They were overwhelmed as to
how good the quality was, and believe that your work is far superior to all the
high profile agencies in wedding photography (don’t get me wrong, your photography
is extraordinary in general). Tashelle at Mira Mandic (my dress) said that it
didn’t look typically bridal (that was the inspiration for the day, ‘not typical’)
rather something you would find in a high-end magazine!!!!! Speaking of, she
