Lace or light fingering weight yarn. The degree of transparency depends
on the weight of yarn.
One size (over sized) in this pattern. See also the separated modification
pattern for larger bust size: 97 to 122 cm [38 to 48“].
Short sleeve (long sleeve) in the pattern.
400 (560) m [438 (613) yds], excluding yarn for knitting swatch.
14 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm [4“], with main needle in stockinette stitch after
wet blocking.
6 mm [US 10] circular needle as main needle. 5 mm [US 8] needle for
finishing sleeve (only for long sleeves). Adjust needle size if necessary to
get gauge.
5 stitch markers, 1 for marking „end of round“ and 4 for „raglan &
center front“ (I recommend to use a different color marker for end
of round), tapestry needle, waste yarn, crochet hook (only for smaller
neckline)

Section 1: Neckband
You can use one of two cast on methods, one
for wider neckline, another for smaller. Cast on
loosely, in order to get the neck opening true to
size.
CO for wider neckline:
Using one tip of needle, with Double-Twist
Loop method (video), CO 60 sts, turn work
and knit one row. PM to mark end of round
(= center back) and join in the round.
Rib Round 1–7: (Ktbl, p1) repeat to end.
Skip to Round 8.
CO for smaller neckline:
Using waste yarn and crochet hook, with
Chained method (video), CO 30 sts, cut
yarn. Work Tubular CO as follows:

h: 47 cm [18 ½“]
CO Round 1: (K1, yo) repeat to end, PM to
mark end of round (= center back), join into a
round, being careful not to twist stitches.
= 60 sts
CO Round 2: (K1, wyif sl1) repeat to end.
CO Round 3: (Wyib sl1, p1) repeat to end.
CO Round 4–5: Repeat CO Round 2–3.
Rib Round 1: (K1, p1) repeat to end.
Rib Round 2–7: (Ktbl, p1) repeat to end.
Remove waste yarn and skip to Round 8.
After both CO:
Round 8 (inc): (Ktbl, RLI, k1) Repeat to end.
= 90 sts.

Section 5: Divide for body and
sleeves
Work 1 round for Long Sleeves:
Round 1: [k to marker, RM, bring the
yarn to front of work, slip the next stitch
purlwise, then return the yarn to the back,
slip the stitch on RHN back to LHN, place
45 sts from LHN on wast yarn, RM, turn
work, using Cable method (video), CO 7 sts,
turn work, sl1, pass the last CO st over
slipped st to close the hole, pull the
working yarn] twice, k to end. = 180 sts
Work 2 rounds for Short Sleeves:
Round 1: [k to marker, RM, BO to marker
with Elastic BO (see below), RM, BO one
more st] twice, k to marker, SM.
Elastic BO (K2tog BO)= sl1, [k1, insert the
LHN into the front of 2 sts on RHN from left to
right and knit the 2 sts together through their
back loops with the right needle] repeat. (video)
Round 2: [k all sts to BO of previous row,
insert needle into first BO stitch and pick
up 1 st (see below), turn work, using Cable
method, CO 6 sts, turn work, sl1, pass the
last CO st over slipped st to close the hole,
pull the working yarn] twice, k to end.
= 180 sts

Round 4–5: Repeat Rounds 2–3.

Section 6: Lower body
Knit in round until piece measures 10 cm
from dividing round.
Work Rib (ktbl, p1) until rib measures 8 cm.
With Traditional method, BO all sts loosely
(knitted sts knitwise, purled sts purlwise).
Section 7: Long sleeves
With Magic Loop Method or Gauge Needle
DPNs, place held 45 sts of sleeve onto
needles.
Beginning at center of underarm, pick up
4 sts from half of underarm CO, k45 sleeve
stitches, then pick up 4 sts from remaining
underarm, PM, join for working in the
round. = 53 sts
K until sleeve measures 18 cm [7“] from
underarm CO.
Count the number of rows from underarm
CO, both sleeves should have same number
of rows.
Section 8: Make diagonal cuff line
with short rows
If you will not work diagonal line, skip to
Section 9.
Place new marker to mark new end
of round: End of round move 10 sts from
center of underarm to front. Work as follows:
Left Sleeve: K10, PM.
Right Sleeve: Sl 10 sts from RHN back to
LHN, PM.
Remove old marker when you work short rows.
Short Rows:
Row 1 for Left Sleeve (RS): K48 (= you have
5 sts before marker), turn.
Row 1 for Right Sleeve (RS): Slip 10 sts,
k38 (= you have 5 sts before marker), turn.
Row 2 (WS): sl-gsr, p42 (= 5 sts before
marker), turn.
Row 3: sl-gsr, k38 (= you have 3 sts before gsr
of previous row), turn.
Row 4: sl-gsr, p34 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 5: sl-gsr, k30 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 6: sl-gsr, p26 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 7: sl-gsr, k22 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 8: sl-gsr, p18 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 9: sl-gsr, k14 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 10: sl-gsr, p10 (= 3 sts before gsr), turn.
Row 11: sl-gsr, k9, k-gsr, (k3, k-gsr) 4 times,
k5, SM, do not turn.
Round 12: K5, k-gsr, (k3, k-gsr) 4 times, k

Section 9: Finish long sleeves
Round 1: With 5mm needle, k to marker,

Round 2: (k2tog, k1) repeat to 2 sts before
marker, k2tog, RM. = 35 sts
I-Cord BO: Insert the tip of RHN into the
next st as if to knit, using knitted cast on,
co 5 sts, [k4, k2tog tbl (= last st i-cord and
the next st of sleeve), sl 5 sts back to LHN]
repeat to end.
BO 5 sts of I-Cord (same direction as
working I-Cord). Cut yarn and sew and
graft 5 CO sts and 5 BO sts with tapestry
needle.
FINISHING:
Weave in all ends and wet block.

kfb = knit in the front and back of the stitch

yo = yarn over
German short row:
sl-gsr = slip 1 stitch purlwise with yarn in
front. Bring yarn up, over and back to pull
on the slipped st until it slides around to
show two legs. It will look like a double st,
but count this as a single st. Work following
sts as usual while keeping the tension on
the slipped st.
k-gsr = knit slipped gsr. K through both
legs (through the centre of the entire
bundle) as if the gsr were a normal single
stitch. Work following sts as usual.
p-gsr = purl slipped gsr. P through both
legs (through the centre of the entire
bundle) as if the gsr were a normal single
stitch. Work following sts as usual.
