Roxanne Lewis
We asked Roxanne what was her favorite art form, she responded “I find the most compelling
art form to be oils on canvas because I believe the vibrant colors bring life to my painting.”
Roxanne became a member of the Delray Art League because of its long standing great reputation
in the community. The Delray Art League has been in existence for over 50 years and
Roxanne is happy and honored to be a part of it.
When you ask Roxanne why she loves Delray Beach her comment would be that she loves the
rich culture and the arts including the wonderful music scene, and of course the restaurants and
shops on Atlantic Avenue. Roxanne feels that “It is my pleasure to be a small part of this great
area and Delray Beach.
Kathryn Carlyle
When we asked Kathryn what do you find most compelling about your chosen art form, her
reply was “My chosen art form is that of a painter and a one-of-a-kind jewelry designer. I
believe that this all comes together in my materials, venues and the individuals they appeal to.”
Kathryn has pursued this interesting pair of media all of her life, her inspiration is realized from
interludes during her diverse travel experiences and her dream sleep.
Kathryn uses metal leaf in her pieces, whether it be 22 karat gold, silver or copper, “My 2D
abstract expressionism relates congruently to the precious metals that I use in my one of a kind
art jewelry.”
She has been an active member of the Delray Art League for the last 15 years, participating
in the downtown outdoor shows with her talented fellow colleagues. Her efforts have always
proved to be popular and profitable at the art league exhibits and for the donations generated
to the arts education scholarship fund from her sales.
Kathryn like most Delray residents will tell you that she loves Atlantic Avenue downtown as
it encompasses a full array of the best that Delray has to offer. Entertainment, dining, the arts,
festivals and shopping, from her experience are her favorites as she has lived in the immediate
downtown area of Delray Beach for a decade. kathryn_carlyle@comcast.net
Moneta
Moneta is one of the Delray Art Leagues most colorful artists which begins with the idea that
you will always be on a first name basis with her as she goes by one name and that is “Moneta”
What defines Moneta as an artist and what she finds most compelling in her work comes from
an experience that she had years ago as she came through New York City’s Kennedy Airport for
the very first time. As she was walking through the terminal into the open expanse there was
a large massive piece of colorful art hanging from the ceiling. She couldn’t help but notice the
large three dimensional Alexander Calder mobile and the feeling it created inside her from its
presence overhead.
Moneta has been a Delray Art League member for many years, loves downtown Delray and
all it has to offer and as an artist you will find she participates in outdoor art shows in Delray
regularly. She can easily be found as her work is well, large, and true to the form and experience
that guides her.
