It’s safe to say that there’s not a single person in the world
who doesn’t like music. It can transform your mood, elevate
your senses and upgrade your day or night. January
is International Quality of Life Month and good news for you
is that you don’t have to look far for a quality good time. The
organizers at Old School Square have once again brought us
the Free Friday Concert Series, and the lineup is stellar. Start
off your concert-ganza on Friday, January 3 with Artikal Sound
System and continue the good times with Orange Sunshine on
January 10, Classic Rock Therapy on January 17, Spider Cherry
on January 24 and Vinyl on New Year’s Eve. The music starts
at 7:30pm and lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, but no
pets. Full bar and concessions are available on site, so leave
everything else at home and enjoy a hassle-free night out. It’s
a great event to invite your friends, or make some new friends,
and enjoy the lovely “winter” weather that Florida has to offer.
The concerts are held at the Old School Square Pavilion, 51
N. Swinton Ave. Visit www.oldschoolsquare.org or call (561)
243-7922 for more information.
Yes, it’s that time of the year again when you are going
to lose weight, get in shape, exercise daily, go vegetarian,
and never touch alcohol again. We all know it so well
because we talk about it every post-holiday season, and then
forget about it two weeks later. Instead of talking, do more doing
during Diet Resolution Week, which is January 1 through 7.
Our bustling downtown has so many healthy options to choose
from to help your waistline. Start out the week on a clean note
and enjoy the Pur Recovery power shake from PurGreens. It’s
made with banana, raw oats, almond milk, vegan chocolate
protein, peanut butter and honey ($11), and is a great way to
start your day. Another delicious option is Gary Rack’s Farmhouse
Kitchen, where they offer “the farm-fresh lifestyle we
all crave.” The quinoa chop, made with farro, apricot, beets,
pistachios, radish, goat cheese, pears, grapes, tomato and garbanzo
beans ($14) is a healthy and filling salad that will keep
you feeling right all day. Whatever your resolution pleasure,
there are options aplenty. PurGreens is located at 45 N.E. Second
Ave. and Gary Rack’s Farmhouse Kitchen is located at 204
E. Atlantic Ave. Visit www.downtowndelraybeach.com or call
(561) 243-1077 for more information.
