Delray Under $50
Most Fun Small Town, Most Crazy Small Town, Most Small Town that Feels
Like a Big Town. Delray has it all. With a bustling downtown, Pineapple
Grove area, and little nooks and crannies in between, there’s more
to do in Delray now than ever, with events and happenings
spanning from daytime to nighttime. While it can
seem expensive at times, there’s a great
opportunity to enjoy all the City has to offer
without breaking the bank. Here’s what you can
do in Delray Beach in January for $50 or less.
The holidays are finally past us, and while we’re obviously recuperating,
it’s also a great time to reboot. January is International
Creativity Month and is a fantastic month to tap into
your creative spirit (or lack thereof) and make something of it. If
you’re not sure where to start the good people behind the 31st Annual
Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts have us covered.
They are giving us the tools for success to either snag a creative item
or indulge in the creative spirits to make crafty items ourselves. Either
way, it’s a great win, win. Held Saturday, January 18 and Sunday,
January 19 from 10am to 5pm, the juried art festival features handcrafted
artwork such as glass, photography, painting, mixed media,
fiber, jewelry and much more, from some of the most buzz-worthy
names on the contemporary arts scene. The festival is held on East
Atlantic Avenue from Federal Highway to A1A, so it’s also safe to
say this might be one of the prettiest venues for an art festival in all
the land. Visit www.artfestival.com or call (561) 746-6615 for more
information and event details.
New Year, New You. Well, if you’re into
it. There’s no better way to welcome
the New Year than by having fun on
the daily, including your wardrobe. If you need
some fashion assistance, look no further than
the Seventh Annual Delray Beach Fashion Week.
January is Self-Love Month and is a great time
for some inner and outer reflection, and you can find
(mostly) everything you’re looking for in your own
backyard. Fashion Week is held Wednesday, January
29 through Sunday, February 2 and is the best venue
for being privy to the newest and best trends for
2020. The exciting fashion shows and events include
a Fashion Bowl “54” with a runway show
event on Atlantic Avenue, a view of the winning
collections of local designers during
Art Couture All-Stars fashion show event at
the Cornell Art Museum, the Halftime & High
School Super Pep Rally for pop-up football and swimwear fashion
and fun, Shop the Runway Blitz during the downtown retailers instore
shopping events, and a Super Bowl LIV Sunday celebration
held throughout downtown with shopping, brunch, and watch parties.
Yeah, it’s kind of a big deal. The fashion show events are held
throughout Downtown Delray Beach. Visit www.downtowndelraybeach.com
Hot or iced, it’s all nice.
January is National
Hot Tea Month
and even though us
Floridians don’t get
the chilly weather
like our Northern
neighbors; a steaming
cup of hot tea is always
a comforting treat.
If you’re looking for a tas-tea
and more elevated experience
than your average tea packet from Publix, march right on over to
Yaxche Tearoom, where they offer Goodwater, good teas, good coffees,
good food, good gifts and good vibes. (Yes, it all is really that
good.) Yaxche is the ultimate tea emporium because you can choose
from more than 100 different types of teas from all over the world,
so your options are almost endless, especially if you like to mix and
match your teas. To make it even better, the tea-istas make all of the
teas with Goodwater, which they claim is the purest and cleanest
water on Earth. You can enjoy your tea hot or cold, pick out a
sandwich, soup or salad from their menu, or a little sweet treat from
their counter of goodies, and take a seat in any of the indoor or outdoor
nooks and crannies of the eclectic space. You might only be a
few steps from Atlantic Avenue, but you’ll feel worlds away. Yaxche
Tearoom is located at 14 S. Swinton Ave. Visit www.yaxchetearoom.
com or call (561) 865-7618 for more information.
