Associative Design (AD) is a project by the Portuguese Association of Wood
and Furniture Industries (AIMMP) that aims to develop and promote the
production of products from the home sector as well as launch challenges
that will contribute to innovation in the use of both technology and design.
AD will support and push companies that share this vision and take their
products further into exciting new markets.
AD is a brand of excellence that represents and promotes Portuguese products
on the most important, demanding and acclaimed venues on the international
landscape. This collective effort is sustained by quality, innovation and design
and aspires to answer the growing global market demands.
The AD brand relaunch aims to continue to the project started in 2009 while
being more ambitious on its execution and goals. While expecting to produce a
real increase on the volume of sales AD is also determined to become a success
case study alongside the companies and products involved.

AROUNDtheTREE is a portuguese Brand of Exclusive Design Furniture, a responsible
design brand that aims to create unique, exclusive and timeless pieces through the
harmony of innovative designers and the tradition of ancient craftsmen knowledge.
Is also an inclusive brand that embraces environmental issues, seeking responsible
partners and suppliers.
Always inspired by nature, we create unique pieces designed with all detail and
functional character.
In the end, we like to think that our pieces accumulate stories as they go from Generation
to Generation until they become... TIMELESS.
Since April 3 rd 2014, you can find AROUNDtheTREE represented by PORTUGUESE
ROOTS Chair at MUDE (Portuguese National Museum of Design) and won the Silver
Award by A’Design Awards 2014 with Portuguese ROOTS Chair too. Since November
2015 AROUNDtheTREE is also present at First Museum Design Center at Funchal, Madeira.
Portuguese ROOTS Chair, designed by Alexandre Caldas will be the NEXT ICON OF
DESIGN WORLD WIDE.
We work with the World with Architect and interior Companies for their projects (Luxury
Hotels & Luxury Residential).

Since its founding in 1962, holding a production plant with 32000m 2 in which ecological

More recently with the creation of the Natus brand, composed of cosmopolitan
and irreverent pieces, born of an author concept, each piece is the materialization
of experience and fantasy. Natus is bold, always challenging the shapes and spaces
gives new life to techniques and materials, involving aesthetics and dynamics in an

BRANCA is a Portuguese Design label for the home, art
directed by Marco Sousa Santos.
BRANCA’s presents a product collection where each piece
is the result of an experimental approach, supported by
detailed research into the aesthetic and structural qualities
of the materials, taking pride in working with high quality
craft producers, combining their handmade skills with the
latest digital production tools.
BRANCA products represent design diligence, as each one
is the result of ongoing dialogue and experiments between
the craftsman and the designer. Designs are only launched
once function, quality, ergonomics, structural integrity,
finish and appearance come together as a whole.
By uniting Portuguese craftsmanship traditions with

wisdom and insight, OLDFOX is born.
OldFox enjoys the freedom in boldness to create, seeks that each piece tell Stories.
Emotion takes place by shape and color!
In the brand´s presentation, the collection appears with Lines and Author pieces.
Here the “Faz de Conta” Line presents itself with the library and table. The library
represents the duality faces of the furniture and can be used as separation of spaces.
The duality of the table, which escapes straight lines, embraces the circle, symbol of
the power of infinity, for infinite possibilities of use.
The contrast of the finishes between a structure in strong color and rough look dressed
in a light and clear exterior, drawn with delicate floating threads lost in high gloss.
“Sussurro”… a tête-à-tête swing, designed to remind us that electronic devices, socalled
progress, subtly occupy and divert us from one of the basic values of the human
being - socialization.
This conceptual combination brings together what is necessary for two people to
swing, creating an intimate and engaging atmospheric space, focused only on the
interests of eye-to-eye conversation, confined within a given time.

Studio Vanessa Barragão is a design studio focusing on the artisanal techniques and
wasted yarns from the industry to produce textiles and products for interiors.
Growing up in the seaside, her connection to the ocean is the inspiration for her
artworks. Vanessa Barragão’s work is characterized by her captivating environments
of coral reefs, cleverly combining craft and recycled materials into unique and luxurious
sculptural carpets and tapestries for floors and walls.
Vanessa was born in Albufeira, in the south of Portugal. Her studio was founded in
2014, when she attended a Master degree at the Lisbon University in fashion and
textiles design. There she developed her first wool yarn collection and tapestries
through an ecological artisanal process. Currently, she is based in Porto, the Northern
region of Portugal, where the nation’s textile industry core is located, and divides
her time between collaborating as a textile designer for an artisanal rugs factory and
running her studio.

It was 25 years ago in Lordelo city (Paredes municipality, Portugal), that we started
this photographic record of unique and top quality furniture. At our X8 Photography
Studio, our aim is to investigate, to create and to design the atmosphere that makes
justice to the quality of our furniture.
From 2005, with a strong will of creating our own designs, we started X8 Solutions
Group. Since then, we produce our designs with a great sensitivity and young
aesthetics, glamour, creating our own identity without neglecting the usefulness and
