"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you
good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people." (Luke 2:10)
By: Dr. Terry Ellis
Executive Editor
& President
While most people are busy fulfilling their
daily schedules and activities, they are
rarely able to slow down long enough to
enjoy the blessings God has bestowed upon them.
However, Christmas is a time when most everyone can
relax to some degree and enjoy the lights, food, festivities,
and quality time with friends and family. Christmas truly
is the most wonderful time of the year! Let us take time
this Christmas to be reminded of the great blessings and
benefits God has bestowed upon us throughout 2019
and reflect on the potential grandeur of His supply and
His sufficient grace for 2020.
As we celebrate the first coming of Christ, let us also
be reminded of His soon return for His Bride. The widely
published Christmas hymn, "Joy to the World" was not
meant to be a Christmas song. In 1719 English hymnist
Isaac Watts published the song intending it to be sung
for Easter. The lyrics refer to the Second Coming of
Christ after the 7-year tribulation. Although the lyrics
refer to Christ’s second coming, it is easy to understand
why it is interpreted as a Christmas song. God certainly
brought joy to the world through His son Jesus Christ,
and all who accept Him as their Saviour have eternal life.
Joy to the World, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.
Joy to the World, the Lord is come!
Rock of Ages Ministries would like to Thank You for your
prayers, support, and volunteer service throughout 2019.
From all of us at Rock of Ages,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to
give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
(2 Cor. 4:6 )
The Discipleship Institute
receives many letters from
inmates that are for the
express reason of thanking us for
providing them the Bible lessons
to study. They are so appreciative
of the materials, and especially for
what the materials are doing for
them. They tell us how they have
not only learned much about the
Bible and God, but how what they
have learned has changed them as a
person. They have been challenged
to give up or stop things in their lives
as well as to start many things such
as daily Bible reading, studying,
praying, and being a witness to
others.
It is so rewarding to read those
letters and see what our investment
is getting in return. One cannot put
a price tag on it. It is a gift that has
eternal benefits. Our supporters
have enabled us to send those
Bible lessons free of charge to over
19,000 prisoners around the world
this year. Over 1,100 of those have
written and told us they got saved as
a result of doing their lessons.
As Christmas is approaching
many are thinking on God’s Gift
to mankind, the greatest Gift ever
given, the Lord Jesus Christ. It
has prompted me to reflect on the
inmates as I mentioned earlier about
how the Bible lessons have meant so
much to them.
I know myself, I have trouble trying
to think of what to get for people
many times. Why not do something
different this year? Give a gift that
is going to last for years to come,
and that others will benefit from
too. The Rock of Ages College of
Biblical Studies may be the avenue
to accomplish that.
Can you think of someone that
would greatly appreciate the
opportunity of a Bible College
education? Someone that would
love to enroll, but just cannot
afford it, or needs that little push
to get them started. Maybe you
cannot afford the cost of the whole
year, but how about the books that
they would need to get started. You
could be the tool that God would
use to direct them to a great place
to study and grow in God’s Grace.
(Hosea 4:6) "My people
are destroyed for lack of
knowledge: because thou
hast rejected knowledge,
I will also reject thee, that
thou shalt be no priest to me:
seeing thou hast forgotten
the law of thy God, I will
also forget thy children."
Hosea states it in such a way that
anyone can understand the need to
study to get knowledge. The cost
of not getting knowledge is high. It
is not just acquiring an education
that is important, but a Bible-based
education that will enable you
to serve the Lord to your fullest
potential.
(Hos 6:6) "For I desired mercy, and
not sacrifice; and the knowledge of
God more than burnt offerings."
(2 Cor. 4:6) "For God, who
commanded the light to shine out of
darkness, hath shined in our hearts,
to give the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God in the face of Jesus
Christ."
Who do you know that you could
give the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God to?
The majority of the proceeds from
the college tuition goes towards
giving the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God to the inmate by
way of Gospel materials given to the
inmate that they might be saved.
We offer very affordable prices
for God’s people to further their
education. Please, visit our website

FROM THE
PRINT SHOP
Dr. Gene Hooker
Publishing Administrator
Since our last newsletter we have been
very busy and God has been so good to the
Rock of Ages. Every day, the staff has been
busy printing Gospel material for our missionaries.
We are not a commercial publisher. Of course, there
is nothing wrong with being a commercial publisher,
they are important to the business world, churches and
individuals who need their services. We are a nonprofit
mission organization dedicated to winning the lost and
disciplining new Christians. It would be a blessing if
we were able to supply churches and individuals with
gospel tracts and books for their ministry. With our
small staff and few volunteers we are only able to keep
our missionaries supplied with their need of Gospel
material. There is very seldom a day we do not have
teams of men and/or women laboring behind prison
bars doing their best to win souls.
Friends who pray for, and support our Publishing
Department make it possible for us to give our
missionaries Gospel material at no cost to them. Paper
for our web press comes to
us at a cost of approximately
$450.00 a roll. Our color press
uses flat sheets and is very
expensive as well.
This year, 2019 we have
printed many thousands of
Gospel Tracts and books.
Our missionary revival teams,
chaplains, volunteers and
workers have given out 312,846 books and thousands
of Gospel tracts. Due to their labor we have received
letters from many that have been saved after reading
our materials.
Buying material by the truck load is the most
economical way to purchase it. A truck load is usually
between fourteen and fifteen thousand dollars.
Recently, we have had to cut back on printing due to
being very low on cover stock. While we were waiting,
we were able to get caught up on collating books
that had already been printed. The Lord blessed
and we were able to purchase a truck load of paper.
We always like to be able, as our supply runs low,
to order the next load so we do not have any down
time. Souls are too precious, and the need is too
great for us to be idle.
Please pray for us and if possible help us with funds
to order more paper and printing supplies soon. If
Jesus does not return very soon we will enter a new
year and a new chapter in our lives. From now until
January 2020 many souls will enter eternity lost. We
must do our best to reach them before it is too late.
Our only means of reaching them is through your
prayers and support.
Thank you for being our friend and showing your
kindness in helping us be a witness for Christ to the
world.

Partners together on the Field
R O A I N T E R N A T I O N A L U P D A T E
By Dr. Ricky Dunsford
Vice-President & International Director
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines workfellow
as one engaged in the same work with another or
a companion in work. This past April my wife and I
entered our 31st year with the Rock of Ages and May marked
the completion of 28 years serving with the foreign outreach.
Today the Rock of Ages has a global outreach with ministries
that include placing missionaries on the foreign field, training
national partners, teaching inmates through suppling the
Prisoner’s Bible Institute material and Bibles for their studies.
In addition, the ministry has begun helping to plant churches
in areas where there is no solid Baptist Church. Recently, we
have begun a more structured outreach in the public schools
in several countries through the Character Under Construction
program. With a work now on six continents and working with
several hundred volunteers and partners it is obvious that the
good hand of the Lord has been on the work. As I thought on
the above verse I realized that this great work has not been
the effort of just a few, but many fellow laborers around the
world have joined together with the same heart and desire to
see sinners saved and workers trained to carry on the ministry.
Thanks to all that give, pray and volunteer not an hour goes by
that the gospel is not shared and preached somewhere in the
world.
"Timotheus my workfellow, and
Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater,
my kinsmen, salute you."
(Rom 16:21)

Brazil
The new Prison Director of Brazil has given us full approval to minister in every institution in the state of Sao Paulo again
since the massive riots several months ago. We just received from the printers in Brazil four new tracts and several more
are underway. We are preparing to distribute the 40,000 tracts that just arrived. Marurcio is an ex-inmate saved a year
ago is now a faithful volunteer, pray the Lord will use him to reach inmates in Brazil.

The fall revival at New Life Bible Baptist Church in Fortune Town, a suburb of Bacolod City was a huge success. The
altars were filled each night and twenty souls made professions of faith. Amen! My, my how the Lord blessed, we were
in several prisons, and one school. Also, we held a Bible Study in the District Jail Police Station. The Lord blessed with
seven officers coming to know Him as Saviour. As we traveled back to Manila, we had a feeding program scheduled
for one maximum-security section in the Manila City Jail. (All prisons, except the Penal Farms are called Jails). In this
prison we provided rice, a sandwich, and soap for everyone. Later that night an inmate came up to a Sister Jail Officer
and he extended his gratitude for the soap we gave. He was so excited to be able to bathe with soap. A total of 322
souls made professions of faith during this concentrated effort. What a mighty God we serve!

Zambia
On September 16, Amezam Shipping picked up over 25,000 pieces of Gospel literature to send to Zambia. This
material will last about two years and is for use in our prison, jail and church ministries. We are thankful to the Rock of
Ages Publishing Department for the gift of our material! Our Zambian national team is doing a great job laboring for
the Lord!
Our Zambian national team report from the field:
Jail Evangelism Services = 16 Attendance = 274 Saved = 230
Prison Ministry Services = 13 Attendance = 667 Saved = 184
School Ministry Services = 6 Attendance = 619 Saved = 14
Missionary Jim Jeremias

Six churches were a part of a three-night training program with an average of 85 in attendance with participants
receiving certificates for completing all three nights. Brother Jeff Bellamy did the teaching and many went away with a
desire to begin an ongoing Prison Prevention Program out of their local church. The group is presently working in 22
public schools. While in the country we were able to hold services in eleven schools. As I finished my sermon in one
school four students came forward and accepted the Lord as their Saviour. Two or the students were Muslim and two
where Hindu. Praise the Lord for the convicting power of the Holy Ghost.
Brother Mike Adams
Africa
The Lord blest our trip to Ghana and Togo in late August to early September. We were able to preach in churches and
prisons and saw 17 professions of faith in Christ Jesus – Praise God!
We held two conferences and were able to give materials to 63 churches from the container that arrived a week before
we did- Thank the Lord!

Lovely Ladies
Help for the Hurting
DR. PEGGY ELLIS | Director of Lovely Ladies Ministry
Holidays are difficult for the incarcerated
being aware of their separation from family,
friends, children, and loved ones. Loneliness
becomes a reality and their seclusion from society hits
them harder during the holidays than most other times.
The hardships and deaths surrounding their families and
loved ones during the holidays makes it easier for us
to understand their mindset and confusion. We, here at
Rock of Ages Ministries, feel that showing Christ's love
during this difficult time, will make it easier for one to
realize there is hope…in Christ Jesus.
Incarcerated women have grown at twice the pace
of men’s incarcerations in recent decades, and has
disproportionately been located in local jails. This is
especially troubling given that 80% of women in jails
are mothers, and most of them are primary caretakers of
their children. Thus, children are particularly susceptible
to the domino effect of burdens placed on incarcerated
women.
Often when inmates enter the penal system, they have
very poor hygiene habits that can generate hostility from
other inmates. Many do not shower, brush their teeth or
care for their hair on a regular basis which can result in
conflict for them among other prisoners. This is where
our “Help for the Hurting” Christmas Stocking Project
comes in. Our ministry hands out around 6500 Christmas

NEW ONLINE VIDEO COURSES
Through the years we have seen a need in many churches for teachers, pastors are
not having enough teachers to fill their need, and pastors needing quality materials
for Sunday School, Bible Classes, shut-ins, and to offer college-level classes in their
church.
The eight courses that we now have available are only the beginning. Each course consists of
13 – 16 lessons that will average 45 minutes each. They can be purchased and used repeatedly
in multiple classes. The courses are recorded with the instructors that have written the materials
doing the teaching.
These new video courses are easy to follow and impart knowledge from God's Word with great
clarity, detail, and interesting visual presentations. It is a great avenue to engage more of God's
people in studying His Word as it is very effective for people with limited time.
The cost of each course is $300.00 and will include all lessons pertaining to the course purchased
as detailed in the Presentation Video.
In the long run, the materials will be much more cost-effi cient than curriculum that has been
made available to churches in the past.
Again, our goal is to be a help to God’s people, by presenting a means or method of teaching that
will enhance their desire to learn. In return, I believe they will have a greater desire to serve.

Since May of 1996, Dr. Robert Keeton has taught missionaires and held church seminars on the
religion of Islam. In Revealing Islam, Dr. Keeton gives us an informative look at the beliefs and
practices of Islam that will help to equip the reader with knowledge of how to reach them. This
instructional book reveals his research to us, and the blessing he has had to put his findings into
practice. He does this by providing examples of his experiences witnessing to many Muslims and
seeing them come to Christ.
Dr. Keeton also reveals the rapid advance of Islam in our present day and its emerging role as the
one-world religious platform for the antichrist during the tribulation period.
This is a wonderful resource, and has been instrumental in many accepting Christ as Saviour
