In difficult playing conditions in deepest Shropshire Darlaston recorded

their first League win in four games with a hard-earned win against

Shawbury United.

The conditions meant that both sides took a while to get into the game,

the match riddled with free kicks and little goalmouth action. Lucas

Hough headed an early Isaac Cooper corner wide whilst Steve Nicholson

looked threatening for the home side without creating a clear

opportunity. Isaac Cooper shot wide on 24 minutes and that pretty much

summed up the threatening action in the opening quarter of the game.

Darlaston took the lead on 30 minutes when Liam Walton fouled Aidan

Blackham on the angle of the penalty area. Cooper's in swinging
